Export cartons are usually single-layer trays or telescopic boxes with vents lined up with the flow of cold air. For avocados, European buyers commonly take 4 kg boxes, and the size code tells the buyer roughly how many fruit are inside. The carton is sized to your count and to the pallet, so boxes do not overhang the edge, and the board is chosen to keep its strength in a cold, humid store.
