Flowers shift or crush during handling.
Develop the length, width, depth and internal restraint around the bunch format.
Industry packaging
Flowers & horticulture packaging.
Flower boxes, bunching sheets and export cartons for growers and horticulture exporters.
Ethiopia is Africa’s second-largest cut-flower exporter and one of the five largest in the world: horticulture earned the country about US$565 million in 2024/25, most of it from roses and other flowers. Every stem leaves the farm in a box.
Flower boxes have to protect heads and stems through cooling, air freight and auction handling. We make telescopic flower boxes, bunching sheets and export cartons to each farm’s bunch and box sizes, with samples before the first order.
Buyer priorities
What your packaging must do.
- 01
Protection through packing and airport handling
- 02
Ventilation and openings positioned for the selected pack
- 03
Fast, repeatable assembly at the farm
- 04
Dimensions coordinated with bunch count, pallet and transport plan
From problem to response
Design around the actual load.
Packing takes too long at peak periods.
Review the assembly method and trial the structure with the packing team.
Moisture and cooling conditions affect board performance.
Share the cold-chain and exposure conditions before board is specified.
Recommended packaging
A practical place to start.
Final construction depends on the packed product, quantity, route and approved specification.
Export cartons
Shock-resistant export cartons and heavy-duty industrial cartons.
Shock-resistant · heavy duty
Specification guidance
Board and fluteChoose using packed weight, span, stack and expected moisture exposure.
Print and finishKeep handling marks and exporter identification clear and scannable.
StructureTelescopic and die-cut formats can be assessed; ventilation must follow the packing plan.
HandlingTrial the pack through bunching, cooling, palletisation and loading before scale-up.
Guidance is a starting point, not an engineering guarantee. Approve a written specification and sample for the actual packed product.
Quality & compliance
Questions to settle before production.
- Confirm inside dimensions against the actual bunch format.
- Approve vent, hand-hole and closure positions with the packing team.
- Validate the finished sample in the intended cooling and transport process.
