Water-based inks now standard for food packaging
All food packaging we print now uses water-based inks, with no change to price or colour quality.

Food packaging we print now uses water-based inks as the standard. The change does not alter the price of the job or the colour quality.
Water-based inks put the colour on the board without the solvent load of older systems. They are the safer choice around food, and the printed board is easier to recycle with the rest of the carton.
What stays the same
- Artwork does not need to be redrawn
- Colours are still matched on a press proof before the run
- The price of the printed pack does not change because of the ink
Which packs it covers
The standard covers food packaging we print: shipping cartons for food and drink, printed retail cartons, and colour work on packs that sit near food. When you ask for a quote, tell us what goes inside the box. We confirm the ink and the board together, then send a proof before production.
